I knew eventually I would get back to where I started."

The article mentions that she stayed in a corner next to a window talking to Lou Reed and that she was dressed very fashionably. The picture shows Cyndi talking to Lou Reed. Her hair looks light in the black and white photo. Perhaps this party occured before she went on tour and dyed her hair purple. Courtney love was wearing a Versace gown and a tiara in her hair. The article only briefly mentioned Cyndi though as Courtney was the main attraction of the party as evidenced by the pictures.

The article states that There was beautiful music for every taste but the clear crowd favorites included purple-haired and pregnant Cyndi Lauper, who appeared near sunset for a single song... Lauper was as outrageous as she was as Tina Turner's opening act last month at Radio City. In terrific voice and mightly pregnant, it seemed impossible for her to be as active on stage as she was. It would have been a lot to ask -- considering her condition -- but the fans wanted to hear more than one song from the woman who informed them long ago that 'Girls just wanna have fun'.
